No Pain, No Gain

I'm slowly getting back into running again after a horrible cold and these endless knee issues. I ran 6 miles on Sunday with no pain and 3 miles on Monday. The pain I'm feeling now is coming primarily from physical therapy, especially the ART (active release technique) the doctor has been using to help break up the scar tissue in my IT Band. The pain is pretty intense and my legs are black and blue from my knee all the way to my hip, but... whatever gets me running again, right?
I've been debating whether to run a famous San Francisco race this weekend (Bay to Breakers). It's only 7 miles, so it shouldn't be too bad, right?
Thanks everyone for the encouragement and for putting up with crabby little me. Not running gives me a terrible attitude. Sorry!
